Invisible Other
Invisible Other is a project and performance that shares the stories of women who are under-represented in both media and performance as they age. I partnered with the Fawcett Society, Plymouth; the Plymouth & Devon Racial Equality Council; and the Sunflower Centre Plymouth to engage with a wide range of women and to gather their stories. These women were integral within the process of developing and creating a performance and we celebrated these stories in front of a wider public audience.
I also talked to younger women (20-25), asking their thoughts on the ageing process and how they see themselves at the same age, this was facilitated by Grace Adenubi, a Plymouth Conservatoire graduate and MA Acting student.
Our audios are a sharing of some edited stories, along with our podcasts and our films, which can be found on the drop down menu. Working with Catherine Hall [chhinterpreting.com] and Far Flung Dance Theatre we worked on the accessibility of these stories as we share a selection of them online.
Invisible Other reflects under-representation and celebrates our age.
Invisible Other will return in 2023
